In December 2013, Frattalone Companies was awarded the contract to demolish the Hubert H. Humphrey MetroDome stadium in Minneapolis, former home of the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. Work began with deflation of the air supported roof on January 18, 2014 and was completed on April 15, 2015 – 4 ½ weeks ahead of schedule. In just 9 ½ weeks Frattalone crews demolished 900,000 square feet of stadium and salvaged 80,000 tons of concrete, 5000 tons of steel, 320 tons of plastic seats and 300 tons of 3.5” diameter roof support cables. The entire project logged over 15,000 man-hours without an injury or lost time accident. And we achieved a recycling rate of over 80%.
