Energy Project Field Engineer

Role Overview

The Project Engineer will work closely with and support our Energy Estimating and Project Management Team to win and construct civil site construction and pile installation for solar energy projects throughout the Upper Midwest and beyond. They will work closely with clients, vendors, utilities, local jurisdictions and our solar operations team to deliver solar energy projects from pre-construction through project closeout.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure project success
  • Support field operations with timely material procurement and delivery
  • Work closely with local jurisdictions to obtain permitting, inspections, utility locations and other approvals
  • Provide estimating with quantity takeoffs, vendor and subcontractor solicitations
  • Identify, track and evaluate project progress including schedule, scope, completion dates, invoices, costs and changes in scopes of work
  • Travel to project sites as necessary to support the estimating and operations teams

Qualifications

  • A two-year or four-year degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (4-year preferred); or equivalent education and experience
  • Good communication skills to work with our team, clients, owners and subcontractors
  • Proficient Computer Skills, specifically MS Office.
  • BlueBeam, HCSS HeavyBid and HeavyJob are a plus
