Risk Engineer-Intern

Role Overview

The Risk Engineer – Intern is responsible for assisting the Corporate Safety Director (CSD) with oversight and execution of all safety programs throughout the company, ensuring hazards are identified, employees are trained and all operations are performed in the safest manner and environment possible.

  • Strategic Planning – Assist CSD in continuous improvement of the Corporate Safety Program. This includes research of programs outside of the company as well as creating professional development/training programs for employees.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting – Ongoing tracking, assessment and reporting of company, department, project and/or employees safety efforts and performance.
  • Prequalification and Preconstruction – Assist with administration and management of all aspects of company prequalification requirements. Provide direct support for all project-specific risk/safety expectations.
  • Claims Management Support in managing all aspects of damages and injuries that may arise during the company’s operations. This involves internal communication with employees and management, as well as external communication with insurance companies and other third parties. Additionally, assist in reporting and tracking all claims until they are successfully closed out.
  • Misc – Other duties as assigned by the CSD.


  • Currently pursuing a degree in Risk Management or Construction Management
  • Construction related field experience is not required but highly preferred
  • Outstanding organizational, time management, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics
