Twin Lakes Pond Dredging
Frattalone completed pond dredging and excavation services for the Twin Lakes Pond in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, on behalf of the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District.
Work began in January after sustained cold temperatures allowed the pond to freeze and be dewatered. Due to runoff from more than 1,600 acres draining into the basin, extensive water management was required before excavation could begin.
Our team removed approximately 3,870 cubic yards (nearly 4,000 CY) of sediment, hauling more than 1,000 cubic yards per day and completing material removal in just three days. The scope of work included erosion control, dewatering, dredging, rip rap installation, and final site stabilization.
Substantial completion was achieved within one month, with final seeding scheduled for spring. This maintenance dredging, performed every 10–12 years, supports long-term stormwater management and water quality protection in the Twin Lakes watershed.
